spice girls 028It’s not just about generating more business!

Exhibitions make a great opportunity to: market test a new product or service; to maintain your profile in the community; to launch a specific new product or service.

The question to ask yourself before any exhibition is – specifically what do I want to achieve?

A good place to start is to think – after the exhibition how will I know it’s been a success?

Be specific, it is no good just saying more business. Specify exactly how much more business.

Asking yourself the questions before the event and using standard management tools such as SMART doesn’t guarantee success, but will certainly improve your results.

SMART? It’s a simple way to remind yourself about the goalsetting process, and equals Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed.

Exhibitions allow people to taste, see, touch, try, experience and engage with your product or service. One of the oldest rules of selling is to engage as many senses as possible. As amazing as the Internet is, people still buy people first and it can’t beat standing face-to-face with a potential prospect who can experience your product.

So before you rush off to get ready for the next exhibition ask yourself what do I really want from this exhibition?

Love at First Sight

Do you believe in love at first sight?
It is certainly true for exhibitions. You need to attract people to your stand by making it interesting, different, original or eye-catching. You need to have a question – visual or written, that grabs the audience’s attention and requires them to come over and talk to you.
A classic [...]

I Can’t Afford to Exhibit

I must admit we’ve all done it or said it – why we won’t exhibit at an exhibition.
“I’ll just turn up and see who I can sell to.”
But let me tell you a few of the facts about why trying to sell to the exhibitors is very much a no-no.

The exhibitors have paid to [...]
